Labiaplasty Care Worth the Trip

Access to an experienced, board-certified female plastic surgeon shouldn't depend on where you live. Labiaplasty is one of Dr. Stephanie Power's most popular procedures, and many women prefer a female surgeon for such a personal surgery. Finding a female surgeon with this experience can be harder in smaller cities and towns across Canada, so Dr. Power, a proud Newfoundlander, created a fly-in program that brings her care within reach for patients across the country.

From your first virtual consultation to your final follow-up, our all-female team stays by your side. We take care of the details, including personalized pre-operative instructions, a custom post-op kit and hands-on help with travel planning, so you can focus on your comfort and your results.

A Warm Welcome to Patients from Atlantic Canada

Dr. Power is a proud Newfoundlander, and she is especially pleased to welcome women from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. For women in smaller cities and towns, a short trip to Toronto is a simple way to have labiaplasty with an experienced female surgeon. Your consultation takes place by video, your time in Toronto is brief, and your follow-up appointments are virtual, so most of your care happens from the comfort of home.

A Warm Welcome to Patients from the Prairies

Women from Manitoba and Saskatchewan are warmly welcome in Dr. Power's fly-in program as well. The program follows the same simple path for every patient: a private virtual consultation, a brief stay in Toronto for your procedure and early recovery, then virtual follow-up once you are home. Our travel concierge can help with flights and accommodations so that every detail is arranged before you arrive.

How the Fly-In Labiaplasty Program Works

Step 1: Your Virtual Consultation

Your journey begins with a no-obligation virtual consultation, coordinated by our patient concierge. Before your appointment, you are welcome to submit any relevant photos securely to Dr. Power through our encrypted platform, so your privacy is protected at every step. During your Zoom call, Dr. Power takes the time to understand your concerns and goals, explains your options and answers all of your questions. If you would prefer to meet in person, an office consultation in Toronto can also be arranged, and before-and-after photos can be viewed privately at an in-office consultation.

Step 2: Your Procedure in Toronto

We recommend arriving in Toronto the day before your procedure, so you have time to settle in, rest well and allow for any travel delays. Labiaplasty is most commonly performed while you are awake under local anesthetic, in a private minor procedure room, and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, or less if only one side is being treated. General anesthesia is an option if you would rather not proceed under local anesthetic; in that case, you will need someone to take you back to your accommodation. Either way, you go home the same day.

Step 3: Your First Nights of Recovery in the GTA

After your procedure, Dr. Power asks out-of-town patients to stay in the Greater Toronto Area for at least two nights, with access to a freezer throughout their stay. Cold compresses are very important over the first three days to reduce swelling, bruising and discomfort. They should be applied continually while you are awake, and each time a compress warms to room temperature you start over with a fresh one, so a freezer close at hand keeps a steady supply ready. During your stay, you will have Dr. Power's after-hours contact information, so support is always within reach.

Step 4: Virtual Follow-Up from Home

Your care continues after you head home. Follow-up appointments in our fly-in program are held virtually at approximately 7 to 10 days and 6 weeks after surgery, so there is no need to travel back to Toronto. You simply upload photos to our secure, encrypted platform, where Dr. Power can review your healing privately, and our team remains available for questions and reassurance throughout your recovery.

Prescriptions and Your Trip Home

We generally recommend picking up your prescriptions at the pharmacy across the street from our office before you leave Toronto, as filling a prescription from an Ontario doctor at an out-of-province pharmacy can sometimes be difficult. For the flight home, wear comfortable clothing, and continue icing for another day or two after you arrive home. No special cushion is needed.

About Labiaplasty with Dr. Power

Labiaplasty, or labial reduction, may be performed to reduce overall size or on one side only to improve symmetry, depending on your concerns. Incisions are placed along natural labial contours, and scars are fairly inconspicuous once fully healed. Dissolvable stitches are used, and you will receive detailed written instructions on wound care, showering and activity. Learn more about labiaplasty with Dr. Power, the trim and wedge techniques and what to expect during recovery.

Labiaplasty Pricing

Labiaplasty is an elective procedure, and our starting fees are:

  • Bilateral trim labiaplasty: from $5,060
  • Unilateral trim labiaplasty: from $2,960
  • Labiaplasty with clitoral hood reduction: from $6,240
  • Clitoral hood reduction: from $3,480

Prices shown are starting fees. Because Dr. Power performs almost all labiaplasties under local anesthetic, most patients avoid general anesthesia fees. Your personalized quote itemizes each fee that applies to your surgery, including HST, and is valid for six months. A non-refundable 25% deposit secures your surgery date, and the balance is due three weeks before surgery. Monthly payment plans for procedures of $1,000 and above are available through Beautifi financing. See all procedure pricing.

Getting to Toronto

Power Plastic Surgery is located at 7 St. Thomas Street, Suite 602, in Toronto's Yorkville neighbourhood. Toronto is served by two airports. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) is our first recommendation for fly-in patients, as it is closer to our office and quicker to travel through. Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), just outside the city, offers more connections and may be the only option from some destinations. Uber, Lyft and taxis are all readily available, and most of our out-of-town labiaplasty patients find them the most convenient way to get around. Fly-In Labiaplasty FAQs

How long do I need to stay in Toronto?

We recommend arriving the day before your procedure. Afterward, Dr. Power asks out-of-town labiaplasty patients to stay in the Greater Toronto Area for at least two nights.

Why do I need access to a freezer?

Cold compresses are very important over the first three days after labiaplasty to reduce swelling, bruising and discomfort. They are applied continually while you are awake and replaced with a fresh one once they warm to room temperature, so a freezer where you are staying keeps cold compresses ready whenever you need them. Always place the compress over a pantyliner, underwear and thin leggings rather than directly on your skin.

Can I have my consultation virtually?

Yes. The fly-in program begins with a no-obligation virtual consultation over Zoom, coordinated by our patient concierge. You may securely submit photos to Dr. Power beforehand through our encrypted platform. An in-person consultation in Toronto can also be arranged if you prefer.

Will I be awake for my labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is most commonly performed while you are awake under local anesthetic, and you remain comfortable throughout. General anesthesia is an option if you would rather not proceed under local anesthetic, in which case you will need someone to take you back to your accommodation.

How is follow-up handled once I am home?

Follow-up appointments in the fly-in program take place virtually at approximately 7 to 10 days and 6 weeks after surgery.

Where should I fill my prescriptions?

We generally recommend picking up your prescriptions at the pharmacy across the street from our office. Filling a prescription written by an Ontario doctor at an out-of-province pharmacy can sometimes be difficult.

Any tips for the flight home?

Wear comfortable clothing for your flight, and continue icing for another day or two after you arrive home. No special cushion is needed.

Who can I contact if I have a concern after surgery?

During your stay in Toronto, you will have Dr. Power's after-hours contact information. Once you are home, our team remains available for questions, reassurance and support.

When can I return to work?

Most patients return to school or office-based work within a few days. If your job is physically demanding, Dr. Power will discuss with you when it is safe to return.

Can I see before-and-after photos?

Before-and-after photos can be viewed privately during an in-office consultation.

Is financing available?

Yes. Monthly payment plans are available through Beautifi for procedures of $1,000 and above. Applying takes about three minutes, does not affect your credit score and gives an instant decision.
