Injectable fillers are a non-surgical option to restore facial volume and to enhance facial rejuvenation. Common sites for application include the cheekbone prominences (malar eminences), marionette lines, nasolabial folds (smile lines), corners of the lip, and jowl region. Fillers may also be used for lip and temple augmentation, correction of shallow wrinkles and creases, and contour improvement of depressed scars.

The type of filler depends on the depth and location of injection. Fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring sugar within the body. There is minimal discomfort associated with filler injections and little downtime. Patients may return to work on the same or next day and are able to wear makeup. Results generally last between 6-12 months.

Dr. Power also performs fat injections, which may provide similar results to injectable fillers. These injections are performed using the patient’s own fat stores. Although the downtime is slightly longer than for office-based fillers, results may be more longstanding.
